Syston Doors have been manufacturing aluminium rolling shutters & grilles for over 40 years and probably provide the largest range available.

Applications

Designed for use in bars, reception counters, display areas, serveries, shopfronts, homes, cupboards etc.

Specifications

For maximum versatility we manufacture and supply our aluminium rolling shutters in three attractive sections.

Ironmongery and Locking

Locking is by shootbolts.

An option for a cylinder espangnolette lock to the bottom rail is available. This throws a lock bar into each side guide and not the counter top/floor.

Locks would normally be omitted if electrically operated.

Custom Design

Our aluminium shutters and grilles are all manufactured to suit your exact requirements.

Manual shutters and grilles can be manufactured up to 3500mm in length, subject to model, with the option of fixed or removable, straight or angled intermediate guides allowing total flexibility in length of ‘run’ required.

Removable guides will usually be fixed into the counter or floor by use of flush fitting spring loaded retaining keeps (dustcaps).

A218

Operation

Self coiling (manual push up/pull down) operation by counter balanced sprung roller is available up to 3500mm in width subject to model.

Electric operation by single-phase 240v ‘tubular motor’ with activation by rocker switch or keyswitch, and manual handcrank operation is available as an option.

Radio control is also available.

N.B. Consideration should be made as to the user of the shutter or grille. If the user is less able we recommend the shutter/grille be split into two parts or electrically operated if over 3000mm wide.

Hoods, Fascias and/or Soffits

These are available at extra cost in aluminium or galvanized sheet steel, with or without a powder coated finish.

A218 Shutter

Extruded 50mm flat faced single skin lath
Can be punched in-line, brickbond with a 150 x 25mm slot or with a 25mm diameter hole
Manually operable up to 3500mm clear wide, electrically up to 5700mm clear wide
Suitable for internal or external use
Available finishes include 'mill', silver anodised, gold anodised and powder coated to standard BS/RAL colours

A316 Shutter

Designed for larger openings (not serveries)
Extruded 75mm single skin profiled lath
Manually available up to 3000mm clear wide, electrically up to 6500mm clear wide
Suitable for internal or external use
Available finishes include 'mill', silver anodised, gold anodised and powder coated to standard BS/RAL colours

A90 Shutter

Using an extruded 90mm flat faced single skin lath and designed for larger openings
Can be mixed with our ‘Vision 90’ slat when only part vision is required
Manually available up to 3500mm clear wide, electrically up to 6500mm clear wide
Suitable for internal or external use
Available finishes include silver anodised, gold anodised and powder coated to standard BS/RAL colours

Vision 90 Shutter

Using an extruded 90mm flat faced single skin lath and designed for larger openings, such as shopfronts, where the option of vision is required, offering from 55% clear vision

Available in the following slot sizes:
- 145mm x 45 mm high with 50mm gap between each slot
- 145mm x 45 mm high with 25mm gap between each slot
- 260mm x 45 mm high with 40mm gap between each slot
- 260mm x 45 mm high with 25mm gap between each slot
- also 45 mm diameter holes
Vision slots can be in-line or brickbond
Slots/holes can be infilled by strong 2mm clear polycarbonate
Can be mixed with our ‘A90’ slat when only part vision is required
Manually available up to 3500mm clear wide, electrically up to 6500mm clear wide
Suitable for internal or external use
Available finishes include silver anodised, gold anodised and powder coated to standard BS/RAL colours

C15

C15 Shutter

Lightweight and compact, the C15 has CFC free foam filled 40mm deep aluminium laths, offering good strength, insulation and sound deadening. Suitable for lower security applications.

Suitable for domestic, bar, servery, kiosk and cabinet use
Can be supplied for ‘built in’ window applications
Spans width up to 3400mm overall end guides
Suitable for internal or external installation
Can be used for shading and light control
Push up, Handle wind or Electric operation available
Lightweight, therefore ideal for manual operation
Locking: Push up by key lock or shootbolts, handle wind and electric
include drive down high security auto lock which ‘locks’ the
shutter down when fully closed
Vented lath option
Standard colours are: Guides, bottom rail and box housing in white or brown. Curtains (vented or unvented) in white, brown or cream. (Other curtain colours also available.)

C38

C38 Shutter

Manufactured from strong double wall 38mm deep extruded aluminium laths, the C38 is ideal for higher security domestic and medium security office/commercial use with the option of part (when only partial vision is required) or fully punched/perforated curtain.

Suitable for domestic, retail, commercial, bar, servery, kiosk and cabinet use
Can be supplied for ‘built in’ window applications
Delivers up to 45% vision (fully punched), 17% (fully perforated)
Punched lath available in ‘in-line’ or ‘brickbond’ pattern
Spans width up to 4000mm overall end guides (3500mm when using perforated lath)
Suitable for internal or external installation
Polycarbonate glazing option to punched/perforated curtain gives external weatherproofing
Push up, Handle wind or Electric operation available
Locking: Push up by key lock or shootbolts, handle wind and electric include drive down high security auto lock which ‘locks’ the shutter down when fully closed

C60 Shutter

Manufactured from strong double wall extruded 60mm deep aluminium laths, the C60 is ideal for medium security office/commercial use.

Suitable for retail, commercial, bar, servery, kiosk and cabinet use
Spans width up to 6000mm overall end guides
Suitable for internal or external installation
Push up or Electric operation available
Locking: Push up by key lock, electric includes drive down high security auto lock which ‘locks’ the shutter down when fully closed
Standard colours are white or brown
Can be powder coated to standard BS/RAL colours
Available for use with high security guide channels

C77 Shutter

Manufactured using CFC free foam filled 77mm deep double wall extruded aluminium laths, the C77 provides a strong and efficient solution suited to medium security domestic, office & commercial applications.

Suitable for domestic, retail, commercial, bar, servery, kiosk and cabinet use
Suitable for internal or external installation
Can be mixed with C80 punched laths when partial vision is required
Spans widths up to 5000mm overall end guides
Push up or Electric operation available
Locking: Push up by key lock and electric includes drive down auto lock which ‘locks’ the shutter down when fully closed
Effective heat and sound insulation and very quiet in operation

Finish

White (RAL9010) or Dark Brown (BS08B29) to guides, hood and bottom rail.

C80

C80 Shutter

Retail or commercial security delivered with style, the C80 provides a high level of vision and is suitable for medium security retail, office & commercial applications.

Spans width up to 6000mm overall end guides (For wider widths refer to our ‘Vision 90’ leaflet)
Delivers up to 62% vision (fully punched)

Can be mixed with solid laths if only partial vision is required

Maintenance

Window shutters primarily require keeping clean, particularly on city centre or coastal installations. Commercial installations should have a maintenance check every year. External key operated locks require frequent lubrication (light grade SAE oil).

Syston Doors offer a national service and maintenance service. Service contracts can also be entered into.
