Transparent Rolling Shutters

Proprietors and Local Authority Planners have for some time been concerned about the 'dead' effect of solid or perforated rolling shutters. Similarly, architects and designers have been looking for developments in the roller shutter market which would offer security coupled with a high degree of transparency.

To meet this requirement we offer two styles of shutter.

'Megalook'

Megalook has been designed to provide an option to traditional rolling shutters where vision is required through the shutter at all times.

Town planners and the public alike dislike dark streets at night caused by blacked out shop fronts out of normal hours.

Megalook is the solution by offering up to 80% vision thereby continuing to show off the shop window displays even when the shop is closed.

Megalook can also be used on shopping malls, reception, bar and servery applications, segregating internal areas or wherever a see through shutter is required.

The polycarbonate glazing panels are joined by aluminium ribs and provide a very strong shutter. Polycarbonate is 250 times stronger than glass of the same thickness.

The polycarbonate can be supplied with a scratch resistant coating and in clear, opal white, bronze or a structured finish.

The polycarbonate panels graduate in size from the top to the bottom.

The aluminium bottom rail includes a rubber bottom seal.

The ribs, bottom rail and side guides are supplied as standard silver anodised with the extra cost option of powder coated finish in any standard RAL colour.

The Megalook comes in two configurations, Solo and Quaroll:

Megalook Solo

Using 5mm thick polycarbonate and designed for openings up to 7250mm wide x 4000mm high Megalook Solo is the ideal solution for shop fronts, reception and servery counters.

Available in the above range of polycarbonate colours.

Megalook Quaroll

Using 6mm thick polycarbonate and designed for openings up to 7250mm wide x 5500mm high Megalook Quaroll is the ideal solution for those larger openings including shopping malls and the like.

Openings up to 10000mm can also be catered for but on openings over 7250mm the aluminium profiles will be connected.

Operation

Megalook is supplied as standard with electric operation by a single phase motor mounted within the roller tube, with either rocker switch or key switch control. Radio control and the facility to link the shutter into the fire or intruder alarm system is also available.

Hoods & Fascias

Hoods and/or fascias can be provide in galvanised sheet steel or with powder coated finish to suit.

Note!

The standard length of the polycarbonate strips is 3000mm. The space between the two strips will be hidden with a 12mm or 16mm aluminium H-profile.

'Clearlink'

Our 'Clearlink' shutter is manufactured using interlocking high impact UV stabilised polycarbonate moulded lenses combined with security aluminium tubing. The strength of the finished shutter is extremely impressive.

'Clearlink' applications are numerous and range from protecting shop fronts, concealed doorways and main entrances to shopping centres, to guarding cash dispensing areas and cashpoint loading zones.

Colours

'Clearlink' lenses can be provided in crystal clear or with a tinted or opaque colour. A combination of lenses can produce a dramatic effect.

Operation

'Clearlink' is only available with electric operation with rocker switch or keyswitch control. Radio control operation is available.
